The Story

The Philodendron mayoi is a relatively rare new comer to the house plant world it was only first discovered in the Brazilian rainforest in 2000. Different from other philodendrons this particular one has palm like leaves. As this plant matures the lobed leaves become more prominent and become deeper and wider. The leaves are a shiny green while the underside veins and stalks a deep red colour. This climbing plant can reach 6 feet indoors a dramatic addition to any room.

Please be aware these plants have had some leaf loss but are still healthy.

RATING- Moderate

LOVES- Bright but indirect light. Water roughly once a week but allow the soil to dry out a little in-between.

HATES- Dust, keep leaves clean with a damp microfibre cloth. Doesn't tolerate dry air but mist occasionally to increase the air humidity.

Pot diameter 15cm, 19cm
